Rings made from Recycled Antique Celluloid

conny2.jpg
They are created from antique celluloid (toothbrush handles, hand mirrors, combs, piano keys, musical instruments….pretty much anything but the kitchen sink). Each ring’s design is made from 20-150 separate pieces. There are no molds!! …just a hand saw, metal files, and sandpaper. The time required to make each ring is about one day.

Buy my Wardrobe - London

maddox-182.jpg
With the launch of Buy my Wardrobe events recycling gets glamorous!
Buy My Wardrobe is a new initiative which sees a number of carefully selected uber-fashionistas gathering for one day events to sell the contents of their fabulous wardrobes to members of the public. It seems like the rebellion against the excessive consumerism of recent years has finally begun, lead by a new eco-concious culture. Buy here the tickets for tomorrow event at
Maddox Club
, London.

Interview with ALESSIO SCHIAVON from UNTHO

london_thepark.jpg
I met Alessio 4 years ago when he was starting his project Untho. His style is very minimal and conceptual and I really like his mindset and lifestyle. He never stay in the same city for too much time and it’s true when he says that he lives on the Earth.
“The inspiration it takes to do this, why should i hear any of it? Do this, do that, do what?
Am I an artist, am I not? Am I the right colour? Am I the right sex? What school did I go to? Do I have a formal training? What does it matter? I am just going to do….what I want to do. I dont need your advice, I will not ask for it…
I am naive, I am sophisticated, I am competent, I am motivated. I am my favourite tool. I am flexible, I am exacting. I am capable of making mistakes. I may lie to you but not to myself.”
“…the raving maniacle feature in these lines is not meant to discourage, I just want you to know what this is all about”. Aim through Futura words.
