A very interesting image gallery from the New York Times online on the goth subculture and how a recent proliferation of Haute Goth on the runways of designers like Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, Gareth Pugh and the spidery crochet webs of Rodarte suggests, once again, that black still is, and probably always will be the new black.

I’m a long time fan of Alexander Girard, he is one of my design heroes and I was looking for some stuff made with his patterns-designs. I found more than I expected on Utility! I really like the card case and the pens but what about these Wooden Dolls from Vitra? The Dolls, which Girard created for his own home in Santa Fe and made himself, are likewise inspired by his own extensive collection of works of popular art. Half decorative element, half toy, the Wooden Dolls were originally intended only for personal use but now you can have them all!
The new Takashi Murakami+Louis Vuitton collaborative collection was first launched on June 1st at the Brooklyn Museum exclusively for the Murakami Exhibition. It’s a huge collection made of bags, scarfs, leather goods, shoes and much more that combines the famous Louis Vuitton monogram and the Murakami camouflage. I checked Ebay and I found many collection’s items so, if you are ready to spend 400$ for a leather belt, go there and bid!
I love Etsy! It’s so great to see all these handmade and unique handmade goods online. Nothing on Etsy is mass produced and it’s easy to find an handmade/ultra creative/recycled/sustainable item that you will never find in a big shopping chain. My today’s founds are (from top to bottom): An adorable House Ring made of sterling silver, a Heart Bust Pendant made with a Barbie doll busts encased in a cast sterling silver setting and a funny Steak Ring lovely crafted to adorn both veggie and non-veggie fingers.
