The 17th -18th May 2008 in Milan there was the first temporary event “Chérie’s Tree House”
Twelve designers and an “house on the tree” where the creativity is fresh, young and in continuos evolution.
An agglomerate of new ideas, new styles, various and original creations all contained in a single space created by Chiara Chérie Grassi to promote just beginning creative young people.
The young woman designers together with Sylvie Gurschler have created a space picked up, almost a children’s fantasy memory, where a house on the tree could be seen as the place where to hide everything, all what one has of several jewellery, only objects to be found out as pieces of furnishing, bags, shoes, swimming costumes, perfumes and jewels.

Ah Xian is a Chinese-born artist who migrated to Australia. He however maintains a close connection with his homeland, particularly its artistic techniques. His works are a stunning representation of the human form. and they are full of meaning For example the Human Lotus above is a statement about the fact that you can never leave your roots completely behind. It’s also a reflection on what it means to be Chinese in the world today. A lot of his his work also carries definite political overtones about China’s attitude to free (especially artistic) speech. The works are all intimate, intricate and delicate. They require attention and viewing from different angles, making this quite a demanding show in its own way. Gemeentemuseum Den Haag

Imagine a tree house and all the things you would like to hide and store there, all these little fascinating objects. These unique pieces to discover.
“Chérie’s Tree House”, dreamed up by Chiara Grassi (Chérie) is exactly this. As the first in a series of temporary events, it will provide the place for these objects that you could like but that you have not seen yet. It is the work of young artists, selected by the Tree House girls, home-made and often hand-made works, dedicated to a female target that loves original and unique objects, like clothes, jewels, bags, swimsuits, furniture, photos and food.
The first Chérie’s Tree House will take place in a private house in the centre of Milan, the 17th and 18th of May. These two days will be surrounded by culinary and musical micro-events :–) Italian version HERE

Great exhibition of some Terry Richardson ’s funniest collections in recent memory with his JACKASS series capturing everyone’s favorite idiots in moments of gloriously uncensored frolic on display at the LaFORET MUSEUM in the trendsetting epicenter of Harajuku. Of course, it wouldn’t be an art show in Tokyo without some obligatory limited-edition product releases and this show sees the release of 200 special photo print T-shits, 100 photo books, And 100 box sets including an instant camera and a pair of Terry’s signature sunglasses. via supertouchart

The average family brings home 1,000 plastic bags every year. It is time for us to switch from a disposable society to one which reduces, reuses and recycles. Open Space has asked 125 artists to create custom-designed tote bags that are also available to purchase online. This show will help spread the message that we care about our planet and do not want to just consume until there is nothing left.
