This September will see the first edition of 4 Weeks of FreeDesigndom, which is basically a month-long celebration of creativity, innovation, fashion and design right in the heart of Holland. For this event the two Dutch cities of Amsterdam and Utrecht have combined forces and will host a great variety of internationally-oriented design and fashion events. Events that cater to the needs of design and fashion aficionados, industry and media professionals, as well as the general public.

Brand new identity and interior for Pluk restaurant, Haarlem - Netherlands, by design firm Tjep. The restaurant, which serves healthy and eco-friendly food, has been decorated with the color and the tasty ingredients of its dishes. Check Tjep website for more Yummy pics of it!

Mire.project, which was born in the streets of Paris in 2005, is a kind of reflection about what television was and what has become now, and also about the strong impact TV addiction has on the population. The test pattern is central in all the production and is used as a very strong universal symbol. L’hotel Particulier, in the heart of historical Montmartre townhouse, is surrounded by an unusual and luxuriant garden . Each one of their five rooms surprise us. Renowned artists were invited to brainstorm on the concept of each one of the Suites in an attempt to bring in some of their own artistic perception. My favourite is The “Vegetal room” by Martine Aballéa, contemporary artist, born in New York, works in Paris. She said: “I wanted the guests in this room to feel like they were in a suspended garden or in trees. To have a sensation of flotting in a luminous, soft and flowered space”. I’ve never been in the room but if I see the picture I think she hits the mark.
If you have been to Berlin you know that the city, which is continuously developing its architecture, is a kind of immense playground and a magnet for street artist from all over the world.

“Side Effects” is an exhibition by Elmgreen & Dragset presenting a new series of abstract, human sized sculptures, dressed according to the following famous fashion designers Vanessa Bruno, Alberta Ferretti, Antonio Marras for Kenzo, Sonia Rykiel, Henrik Vibskov and Gaspard Yurkievich. It blurs the lines between fine arts, comic strip aesthetics, and fashion. Using these cyborg-like, abstract sculptures Elmgreen & Dragset are also able to debate the perception of the ideal body in our contemporary culture.
