I met Alessio 4 years ago when he was starting his project Untho. His style is very minimal and conceptual and I really like his mindset and lifestyle. He never stay in the same city for too much time and it’s true when he says that he lives on the Earth.

I should say “milan” even if dont live this city to much.
anyway, stop by at Vehicle (art gallery) to see what’s on,
go at Trattoria Aurora to eat a good “Bollito”, then get few cocktails at Rita.
If you like skateboarding you should ride lambrooklyn, a nice pool at parco lambro
then ….best thing i like of milan is the geographical position so….sea and mountains are as close as two hours driving.
so make sure to go south to liguria/toscana to catch some waves or north to the alps to ride some pow.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BRAND. WHY THE NAME UNTHO AND WHY THE COLOR RED ?
Around 1999 i created a word and an icon to define my online art gallery and street project: untho.
At the beginning the idea was based on the making of a web site able to contain my artworks.
in all my paintings i focused on the faces of the people living in the city.
i use cartboards, pieces of wood taken from the street and similars things to make my artworks so I tought: urban trash optimized
untho is made by the first and the last letter of urban trash optimazed.
urban represents the city.
trash represents the materials i’m using
optimized refers to the internet language used for the images ready to be published in the web

About red,
The choice comes straight form the Russian Constructivism, in particoular from Rodchencko
He was used to use black, red and white to give more power to his artworks and advertisings.
I guess, he was right!

WHAT’ S THE BRAND MESSAGE ?
provoke, interfere and propose
untho provokes who lives in the city.
untho interferes with the rhythm of the city.
untho starts from the urban culture to propose an independent life style: exploit the city but be always ready to leave it.
untho represents who lives in the city without being involved in the routine that the city imposes.
